Students at Kairos Women+

We are so lucky to work with a range of students and interns at Kairos Women+ and are driven by the passion and enthusiasm they bring to our organisation! We regularly host social work students on placement as part of their undergraduate or postgraduate programme. They get involved in everything we do at Kairos Women+ from supporting women to group work to delivering training. It’s important to know that our students are in training so they are not connected to social work departments and they work within Kairos’ structure, policies and value base. All of our students bring with them a lot of fun and laughter.

Meet our past students

Donna, BA in Community Development from Glasgow University, was on placement from 2019-20. Cook along with her and Sophie in Kairos Kitchen!

As soon as I started I felt at home within Kairos, the women were all very passionate about the project and really committed. Katy the Manager was so supportive and let me run with ideas that came from the women I worked with, which really improved my confidence and commitment to community development. I felt I gained the importance of working with individuals within larger groups, learned to trust the decisions I make and developed a better understanding of situations affecting women. I gained so much from working at the project and the experiences of the women who attended the groups, including the volunteers which has only fuelled my enthusiasm for this area of work.
