I came to Kairos to make a Christmas wreath and to see what this women’s group was going to be like. I felt I had found a place of kindness and support. This resonated with my belief that everyone can blossom in the right environment and this is what Kairos provides and I wanted to be part of that.

I quickly became a volunteer and dived headfirst into many of the fabulous projects. I am currently part of the Zine Working Group and the Development Group, and am so excited by all the wonderful ideas that are forged, when women support women. This is a different kind of community group where it is completely community led, with gentle and inspiring piloting by Katy, and the staff.

I have been a child-minder, ran a bed and breakfast, and recently completed a Degree at Glasgow University as a mature student, while the mother of three kids, and grandmother to two, a farmer’s wife, a carer for my elderly mum. I have worked in the private sector in Customer Service and in a Heritage Project with Renfrewshire Council, archive digitisation with Glasgow Art Club and Ballast Trust, a multitude of skills.

I thought I could bring some enthusiasm and creative ideas to the lovely community that is Kairos. I also believe that Kairos should be available to all communities and I want to help it grow from Renfrewshire to Mars.

All women & non-binary people should know

And feel the Kairos community glow
